It's Time to Awaken the Sleeping Giant
According to recent data, baby boomers are considered the “loneliest generation” in America, with statistics showing that around one in six live alone, often due to factors like divorce, fewer children, and geographic mobility, leading to a higher percentage of them aging without a spouse or living child to rely on; studies also indicate that roughly 8% seniors report feeling lonely frequently compared to other generations. 19.3% of Arizona’s population is 65 years and older.
Arizona City’s population is approximately 10,500. 19% of the population are 65 years and older.

Meet Georgia McClurg
Senior Care Director
On January 17, 1971, at the age of 17, Georgia attended a rally in San Diego, California, where Nicky Cruz, a former leader of the Mau Maus gang in New York City, spoke on behalf of Teen Challenge Outreach. That night, Georgia joined 100 other students in answering the altar call, a moment that profoundly changed her life.
Aspiring to be a freelance writer and photographer, Georgia wrote a testimonial article for Billy Graham’s magazine, Decision. The article led to an opportunity to share her testimony in person on The 700 Club with Pat Robertson in late 1973. While there, Georgia was approached by the director of a missions group called Friends in the West—an organization dedicated to assisting Christians behind the Iron Curtain. She was offered the opportunity to report on their missions in Europe.
Based in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Georgia and the team launched missions across the continent, delivering food, clothing, and Bibles to countries like Yugoslavia and Hungary. During this time, she also worked with local youth ministries in Belfast, holding in-house meetings. It was through these ministries that Georgia met her husband, Nelson. The two were married on May 1, 1976, and in 1979, they returned to her hometown of San Diego with their two daughters.
In 2016, the Lord led Georgia and her family to Arizona City with the intention of “retiring.” However, in August 2024, Georgia took on a job that brought her face-to-face with hundreds of people in Arizona City. As she went door-to-door, Georgia saw fear and concern in the eyes of many—fear left over from the pandemic, confusion about the state of the country, and worry about rising violence and immorality. Most of those she spoke to were senior citizens, still afraid to leave their homes.
It was during this time that Georgia kept hearing a question in her heart: “Why don’t you do this for Me?” Every day now, she sees her fellow seniors through God’s eyes and heart, and she believes they are a sleeping giant ready to awaken and be a force for His Kingdom. Revival, healing, and miracles are within reach, but they must stand together.
Georgia is ready to enlist you—are you ready to join? After all, you won’t find the word retire in the Bible!
